Logicon Caries Detector (Decay) This is a specialized dental software program that allows computer analysis of digital X-rays when areas of decay are suspected. Dr. Stanley can select the image, set the analysis for a particular type of tooth (molar, bicuspid, incisor etc.) and run the analysis for the area in question. The results will show the probability of decay in the enamel layer and also the probability of decay in the underlying dentin layer. This provides both Dr. Stanley and you (our patient) with the most accurate means of detecting dental decay that is currently available in dentistry. A picture of the tooth with the area of decay indicated in color can be printed.
